CS in innovation workshop

Chief Secretary Sri Somesh Kumar IAS said that the government has consistently worked to foster a favourable environment for the growth and development of start ups in the state. Chief Secretary along with around forty senior government officials visited T Hub today and participated in an innovation workshop and had a first hand understanding of the various innovations brought out by T Hub.

Chief Secretary observed that innovations would not only increase efficiency, accountability and transparency, it will also help in improving the functioning of the government departments. He underlined the need to adopt various innovations to improve the service delivery system in the respective departments in accordance with the changing technologies which the various government departments could utilise. He emphasised that spirit of entrepreneurship should be inculcasted amongst the children from the school so that they can easily imbibe the new technologies.

Earlier, Principal Secretary IT&C Jayesh Ranjan said that T Hub has delivered more than hundred innovation programmes so far creating an impact for start-ups and other innovation ecosystem stakeholders. It has provided over 2000 national and international start-ups with access to better technology, talent, mentors, customers, corporate, investors and government agencies. He also explained about the tie ups and collaborations of T Hub with various institutes both national and international.

He noted that T Hub was established seven years ago and in a short span 260 start ups in the field of agriculture, food processing, health and other sectors are operating from T-Hub with a business of 1.9 trillion dollars. While there were only two innovation centres before formation of the state, the number has risen to 63 innovation centres during the last eight years.

In view of the tremendous response to T Hub a separate incubation centre exclusively for women entrepreneurs WE-Hub has been set up in the state. The Telangana State Innovation Council has been promoting innovative thoughts amongst the school children from the rural areas. Similarly, Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad(RICH) was started in 2017 in collaboration with various academic institutions to promote research and innovation in the fields of life sciences, food and agriculture technology.
