Alekhya Vemuri, a 15 year old budding artist from Hyderabad studying in Class 11 at Meridian School Banjara Hills has raised funds voluntarily through the sale of her artworks and handed over a cheque of amount Rs.87,200/- to Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad VC Sajjanar, IPS.,
.The cheque was handed over in presence of her parents Viswanath Vemuri, Ms Jayasree Vemuri and Women & Children Safety Wing (W&CSW) DCP Anasuya.
This cheque was donated towards ‘Operation Smile’- an Initiative by Cyberabad Police for Education and Basic amenities for the children who are rescued from child labour and begging.
Alekhya Vemuri was very inspired by this initiative that has rescued many children across Hyderabad. She has a keen interest in contributing to society and feels honored to support this cause. She is also a YLAC Counter Speech Alum.
Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Shri VC Sajjanar, IPS., has appreciated the generosity of Alekhya for coming forward to help these children and has highly commended her generosity and thoughtful donation to help the rescued children which really makes a change in their lives.
