In remembrance of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s contributions to the country, Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated on April 14th every year.

Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Shri Stephen Raveendra, IPS., paid rich tributes to B.R. Ambedkar on his 131st birth anniversary today at Cyberabad CP Office.

CP lauded the efforts made by Dr. Ambedkar to make the country secular and a democratic republic.

Born on April 14, 1891, Babasaheb Ambedkar was an Indian jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer who campaigned against social discrimination toward the untouchables (Dalits) and supported the rights of women and workers.

He died on December 6, 1956. He is also known for being the architect of the Indian constitution. In 1990, Ambedkar was conferred with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.

Speaking at an event marking the 131st birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution, CP said Ambedkar should not be viewed just as a leader of scheduled castes but as one who fought his entire life through all his means for the upliftment of any person who is downtrodden or discriminated.

“Essentially, he stood for equality, liberty, and justice for all and he gave us all the same principles through the Indian Constitution thereby setting an example to many countries of the world,” he said.

Kavitha, CAR Hqtrs ADCP Shri Riyaz, SB ADCP Shri Ravi Kumar, SB ACP Ramchander, Estate Officer ACP Mattiah, IT Inspector Jupally Ramesh other staff were present on the occasion.
