CP Sajjanar felicitated transgenders who excel in their work

Today., on 28.06.2021, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) Pride day celebrations/meeting held at Cyberabad CP Office with 150 members (Transgender& W&CSW Staff).

As part of the welfare of the transgenders Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad CP Shri. VC Sajjanar, IPS., gave appointment orders to 3 transgenders (1. Choppadandi Sana Chaitra, 2. Anamika Yadav, 3. Kommu Naveen) to work in Compass group.

Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Shri. VC Sajjanar, IPS., conveyed Pride day wishes to all the transgenders and wish everyone to live with self respect and dignity. CP said Telangana Government and Cyberabad Police is taking the welfare of transgenders.

CP requested that all departments should co-operate and co ordinate in preventing human trafficking. To prevent human trafficking a special unit has been set up in Cyberabad on 05.09.2020. So far registered 23 cases and identified 74 culprits and rescued 57 women and children who are victims of such cases.

Transgenders Desk is first of its kind in India. To understand the problems and concerns of the Transgender Community in the city and explore the possible solutions for the same a Transgenders Desk was launched on 06th march-2021 in Cyberabad in Gachibowli PS.

Women & Children Safety Wing (W&CSW) DCP Shri. C. Anasuya said.. On June 28, 1970, the first gay pride marches took place in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. Within a few years, gay rights organizations were founded across the U.S. and the world. Today, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) Pride events are held annually in June in honor of the Stonewall riots. The Pride 1st march was held in New York City on June 28th, 1970 on the one-year anniversary of the stonewall Uprising.

It is a positive sign that most of the transgender victims have sent messages to Whatsapp and appreciated the good work done by transgender helpdesk. SCSC General Secretary Sri. Krishna Yedula said SCSC was formed in 2006 year and has been working for Safety and Security initiatives. SCSC is working for the society. During the COVID time SCSC distributed groceries to the transgenders. Transgenders should develop and upgrade their skills.

Ms.Pratyusha Sharma, SCSC Joint secretary , Women forum, said To upskill the transgenders with the help of Bright Circle Kiran and Ram we designed TRANSFORM program. We will train 30 members in each batch.

Compass group Regional Director (TG & AP) ), Sri. Vivek Suresh thanked Cyberabad CP Shri VC Sajjjanar, IPS., for giving an opportunity to serve the society. Today we gave job offer letters to three transgenders. In the coming days also we work together with SCSC and Cyberabad Police and upgrade the skills of transgenders and providing them jobs.

Montfort Social Institute Director Sri.Varghese Theckanath said..To change the transgenders from begging, unemployment we designed an entrepreneur program and giving loans to Transgenders to make them self reliant.

Social Worker Mukunda Mala said LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) people were also part of the society. Like everyone they were also having equal rights to live in the society. She praised SCSC and Cyberabad police for instilling them a sense of self confidence and a sense of hope among the transgenders by welfare activities like providing them ID cards, Job opportunities, vaccinating transgenders.
