The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the conduct of elections to the vacant Rajya Sabha seats in Telugu states.
The last date for withdrawal of nominations will be June 3 and the polling would be held on June 10.
In Andhra Pradesh, four vacancies would be arising with the completion of the term of – Suresh Prabhu, V Vijay Sai Reddy, Y S Chowdary and T G Venkatesh, on June 21.
In Telangana, two vacancies will arise with the completion of term of D Srinivas and Capt V Lakshmikanth Rao.
YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Telangana have an adequate number of MLAs, they would bag all the seats in their respective states.
In Telangana, a separate notification was already issued for the by-election to the Rajya Sabha seat caused by the resignation of Banda Prakash.
