Apart from the darshan and pooja of the Lord Balaji, the Laddu called the Srivari Laddu is purchased as a very precious item on the TTD. There was a ration kind of sale for the Laddus earlier on the hill shrine.
But now it is made to be purchased over the counter. One can purchase any number. But due to Corona daily about 3000 pilgrims are coming to the hill shrine and the Laddu sale has come down drastically.
Earlier it was in lakhs. The laddu rate has been doubled by the YSRC Government. Now the sale has come down and it is not even 10000 pieces per day.
Overall the income of the Lord has come down. Some priests also have died due to Corona. The situation will improve only when the Corona cases are arrested.
The TTD is taking all the precautions to contain the Corona on the hill shrine. However, the regular poojas to the diety are going on as per the Agama shastra.
One of the main reasons for the pilgrims not coming to TTD is the lockdown in various states. When the states relax the lockdown, pilgrims will start coming to the TTD.
