Cooking gas cylinder rate goes up by Rs 25

Like the petrol price, the cooking gas cylinder rates are also being hiked by the Government. The subsidy is given by the Government on the subside LPG is around Rs 40. This is no subsidy at all.

The oil marketing companies such as BPCL, HPCL and IOCL have raised the cooking gas that is LPG – Liquefied Petroleum Gas price by Rs 25 each per 14.2 kg cylinder effective from July 1, 2021.

This means now the cooking gas in Mumbai and Delhi will be available for Rs 834 per 14.2 kg cylinder as compared to Rs 809 per 14.2kg cylinder earlier.

The central government along with the state is collecting good revenues in the form of Taxes on fuel and also the LPG cylinders. While the LPG rates have been hiked for 3 times the rates of fuels have been hiked by 20 times.

With the increase in petrol rates, petrol theft cases have gone up across the country. Some auto drivers are mixing Kerosene along with petrol it is reported.
