Controversial cop PSR to be intel chief of AP

Chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy has zeroed in on another senior IPS officer P Seetha Ramanjaneyulu, better known as PSR Anjaneyulu, as the new intelligence chief. He is a little controversial officer but close to the powers-that-be.

PSR worked as the intelligence Chief in the United Andhra under the DGP Aravinda Rao. He was instrumental in keeping the law and order in Osmania University during the regime of Kiran Kumar Reddy an also Governor Narasimhan.

Later he was under some controversies as the Commissioner of Vijaywada and went to central service on Promotion. Later he came back to Andhra after Jaganmohan Reddy was the CM.

Meanwhile, there are reports that outgoing DGP Gautam Sawang will take up the post of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission chairman post. The Government has already issued the GO in this regard.

After he gave the consent, the file has been sent to Raj Bhavan for the approval of Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan.

It means Sawang will be foregoing his 17 months of service in the police and accepting a political appointment.
