Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Tihar jail on Tuesday, has formally been arrested the agency in the excise policy case.
The CBI on Tuesday recorded his statement in connection with the Excise Policy scam case. On Tuesday, June 25, Delhi HC had stayed the trial court order granting bail to Arvind Kejriwal while allowing the ED plea seeking a stay on the Trial Court order in the excise policy money laundering case.
Arvind Kejriwal had challenged the Delhi High Court order by moving a plea in the Supreme Court.Kejriwal has withdrawn the petition from the Supreme Court.
The CBI will seek five-day custody of Kejriwal. The court in fact has given the bail to Kejriwal to campaign in the parliament elections. The Deputy CM is already in jail in this connection apart from the BRS MLC K kavitha.
There was no money found so far, but they found that 44 crore was spent by AAP for the elections. The CBI is looking into the corruption angle while the ED is looking into the money laundering issue by Kejriwal and his deputy.
The South group has many players in this case and they have already recorded the statements with the ED. There is proof that Kejriwal has spoken to a Liquor baron in this connection who is connected with a political party.
