CM Jagan visits Polavaram

Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy today visited the Polavaram project for the first time after becoming the Chief Minister. He made an aerial survey over the project first and then made a field visit.

After looking at the works Jagan posed several questions to the engineers and the officials on the site. He examined the spillway also. It may be noted that Jagan wanted to go for re-tendering of some works which he thinks have been overrated by the earlier government.

However, the committee constituted by the Government would look into the matter and recommend the Chief Minister if the retendering is required in any of the works awarded earlier by the TDP Government under Chandrababu Naidu.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu is on a foreign tour.

It is reported that Jagan the new chief Minister is contemplating to complete the Polavarm works at a faster pace and want to showcase it as an achievement for the next elections that is in 2024.

After making a field survey then Jagan went to the camp office of the Engineers and the Officials and reviewed the progress of the works. It si reported then an expert team of Engineers are going into the rating and pricing mechanism of the Polavarm project. They are also looking into the tendering process.

When it comes to the finances, it is reported that Jagan has asked about the utility certificates of the works and that the money that has to be obtained from the Centre. They also discussed the finances taken from the Banks so far.
