Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has greeted the Telangana people on the occasion of the first Ekadasi. The CM said the first (Toli) Ekadasi is the first festival, which heralds other festivals in the year to fill happiness among the lives of Telangana people.
The Telangana people call it Toli Ekadasi and the festival should provide good health, long life and bring in all the auspicious events to people in the state, the CM said.
Governor Tamilisai stated:I convey my heartiest wishes and greetings on the auspicious occasion of the Bakrid festival.
The Bakrid festival symbolises the spirit of sacrifice and supreme devotion.
The Bakrid festival also has a special place in the Islamic faith and it marks the spirit of sharing and charity with great reverence and helping the needy.
I hope the celebration of this festival further strengthens the spirit of brotherhood, service, and sacrifice. The celebration of Bakrid in true spirit promotes peace, harmony, cooperation, compassion, and amity in society.
