Chief Justice of India NV Ramana worshipped Lord Venkateshwara here at the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam with family members. The CJI stayed overnight at Padmavathi Guest House.

He participated in the ekantha seva of the Lord and also had darshan during the VVIP darshan slot along with the family members. He was accorded a warm welcome by TTD Chairman SV Subbareddy and others.

This is the first time that the CJI is coming to TTD after becoming the Chief Justice. He will go to Alivelumangapuram for Padmavathi darshan and this afternoon he is scheduled to go to Hyderabad.

Minister for IT KT Rama Rao will be receiving CJI here in Hyderabad.
It may be recalled that Jaganmohan Reddy has written to the Central Government against Ramana and wanted to stop his appointment. There was an enquiry on the allegations made by CM Jagan and Ramana was cleared by the Government for the post of CJI.

Perhaps this was the first time that a CM has officially written a letter to the centre against the appointment of a CJI. This has created a sensation in the political circles and officials across the country.

Some Judges and advocates also opposed the way Jaganmohan Reddy has complained against the candidature of the CJI officially.
