The Supreme Court will take up the case of former Union Minister Chidambaram’s bail plea today. The case will be coming up before the bench headed by justice Bhanumathi.
Both Chidambaram and his Karthi have clarified that they do not have anything to do with the INX and also Indrani Mukherjee in this case. This is nothing but political vendetta they charged. Chidambaram is in the CBI custody.
The former Union Minister was in the CBI lock up and then was taken for interrogation. Chidambaram took little food and then asked for some tablets which the CBI officers provided to him. His family members and advocate were allowed to talk to the former Union Minister for about half an hour.
The Congress party leaders and advocates are putting their entire weight behind Chidambrama to get him the bail today. It is reported that Chidambrama who is also an advocate has not been cooperating with the investigating officers. He just kept mum for some questions and answers some questioning strategically.
The issue has come up against Chidambaram as Indrani has turned approver in the case. It is due to the FDI that the issue has been chasing the then Home Minister Chidambaram.
The case has been going on for the last 12 years. Chidambaram has diverted the funds to his son Karthi’s companies. The charge is that Chidamabaam has allowed more FDI to INX of Indrani to benefit Karthi’s companies. INX company has allocated every share of the company of Rs 10 at Rs 800 which is very abnormal.
While the Indrani and Peter Mukerjee was in jail , Chidambaram and his son are under the CBI scanner.
