You cannot write off Chandrababu Naidu so easily. People say the TDP is over in Telangana. But Chandrababu the shrewd politician has different plans in place. He wants to be the kingmaker again and there could be a TDP king in place in 2019 according to the highly placed sources.
The TDP knows pretty well that they cannot get any seats in Telangana and whatever they get it would be with great difficulty. Taking this into account they want to have a backdoor understanding with the Congress and get around 20 seats in Telangana. They are hopeful that the Congress may get some seats maybe it could be around 25, the BJP is likely to get around 5 seats.
In this fashion, they want to stitch the other parties against the TRS and then they would demand the post of the Chief Minister like it happened in Karnataka. The TDP is of the opinion that the Congress would agree to give the CMs post.
At the NITI Ayog meeting, Chandrababu was in the company of opposition CMs while KCR was with the NDA CMs. This is an indication for the next elections.
The talk of elections in December 2018 is gaining strength and Modi the PM has already set the ball rolling for the same. There could be elections for 10 states and the centre this year end.
But the situation here in Telangana is that TRS could win just hands down and the thinking of Chandrababu to get the CMs post in Telangana could just be a pipe dream.
