Village Chandlapur in Siddipet district achieved the rare distinction of becoming the Best Rural Tourism Village in the Country. Ministry of Tourism ,Govt of India adjudged the tiny rural part of the Telangana state for its distinct qualities and achievements on different fronts. The village , with a population of 4500 is famous for its intricate and exquisite handlooms. A nucleus of unique handloom varieties including the special Gollabhaama sarees the village is known for the ancient and traditional bent of handloom activity.

The village is located on the cluster of Ranganayakaswami temple which is known for rural tourism. It is surrounded by the recreational zone of Komati cheruvu lake , Wargal saraswathi temple and the Nakashi painting cluster of Cherial. Besides the tourist attractions of this rural part include the Komuravelli Mallikarjunaswami temple. On the cultural front the village is known for its ancient religious attractions like temples, mosques and churches . The cultural resources and iconic crafts of the region reflect the traditional grandeur of this rural part. The natural resources of this part include the rural tourism spot on the historic Ranganayaka hills . the Ranganayaka swami temple is known as remedy for the mental and physical ailments.

Recent addition of Ranganayaka Sagar Reservoir is a jewel in the crown for Chandlapur as this natural resource brought the rarest distinction to this rural part. The Ranganayaka Sagar is one of the link reservoirs of Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project situated near to the Siddipet town. Ranganayaka Sagar is known as the mega tourism destination and the administration of Telangana has developed this part with an amount of Rs.10 crore with facilities like Leisure and recreation cum MICE(meetings,incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism destination.

The village being the hub for the production of famous Gollbhama sarees since generations is promoting the culture of the place. The Gramapanchayath of this tiny village is known for continuous conservation and protection of cultural resources and tourism.

Chandlapur is known for the environmental sustainability activities and various initiatives were taken by the village authorities for the promotion of micro water shed activity, community based management of natural resources. Similarly Chandlapur is known for the committed banning of Single Use plastic . The village promoted the plastic ban awareness by providing cloth bags and Jute bags to the habitants and it is practicing natural resource utilization through Solar lights so as to mitigate the environmental hazards.
