One of the significant festivals that is being observed in the auspicious month of Karthika at Tirumala, the Chakra Theertha Mukkoti will be observed on December 12.

The sacred Chakra Theertham is located, a few miles away in the southern direction of Srivari Temple in the deep green woods of Seshachala ranges.

As per the tamil Karthika masam, on the Suddha Dwadasi day, the Chakra Thirtha Mukkoti event is celebrated every year.

Special Pujas and Abhishekam will be performed by TTD to Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar engraved on the rocky hill along with Sri Narasimha Swamy and Anjaneya Swamy idols located in this sacred place on this day and later Prasadams will be distributed.

According to the legend, a sage who was meditating for 12 years at Chakra Thirtham when attacked by a demon was protected by none other than the Lord Himself who sent His Chakrayudham and killed the demon.

Later the Lord left His most powerful serrated disc at the same location to guard the righteous people upon the request of the sage and hence the torrent is named as Chakra Thirtham.

Varaha Puranam Chakra Thirtham is considered as one of the most prominent one among the seven chief “Muktiprada” theerthams in the Sheshachala ranges.
