The Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, IPS with top-ranking officers and Secretary – Society for Cyberabad Security Council visited Cognizant at Raheja Mind space, Hyderabad to conduct an employee Connect session called “Chai pe Charcha with CP”. This is a first of its kind initiative, where Cyberabad’s top Police officers visited the Cognizant premises to engage with employees, and address the safety needs and concerns of citizens in the IT corridor.
Cognizant Hyderabad head Mr. Prashanth, lauded the efforts of the Cyberabad Police and thanked them for their relentless efforts towards ensuring safety in Cyberabad’s IT corridor. He mentioned that the Telangana State Police was amongst the first in the country to embrace technology and that the Industry and Police have been collaborating closely on several aspects to enhance the Safety and Security factor. Setting up of SHE teams, launch of Safety apps, Command Control Centre, Installing CCTC Cameras, and various other initiatives have gone a long way in bringing the department close to IT work force in the city and improving overall safety. He showcased the initiatives taken up by them for employee safety.
The Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, Mr. V.C. Sajjanar then addressed the employees. He gave details of the various initiatives taken by the police department including increase in patrol vehicles, quicker response time to distress calls, easier accessibility to citizens through Whatsapp and Twitter, Hawk eye and the Police Kalabrundam that was reaching out to citizens across cities and remote locations to educate them on social and behavioural matters such as gender inequality, eve teasing, ragging and suicides.
He made a special mention of Operation Smile that has enabled the rescue of over 105 children from the streets and from hard labour, also helping reunite some of the lost children with their families, and of the installation of CCTV cameras across the city, which has helped the Police solve many crimes. A video showcasing how recent crimes have been solved using footages from CCTV cameras installed across the city, was also played.
