There is a rumour that a cat is also living with Lord Balaji in the Sanctum Santorum. The news is not confirmed but people say that the archakas in the main temple feed this cat with milk after offering it to the Lord Balaji in the Temple. It stays there and it will not touch anything until it is offered to the deity here. It will also sign the archakas to give it the Prasadam when once the lord is given them and the pooja is completed.
The insiders say that of once the cat goes the other one comes and it is the act of the lord they say. This has been continuing since ages and the archakas have not guts to drive it away. They take care of it properly and it is no seen by the pilgrims. It adjusts in one corner and fed by the priests from time to time once the pooja is done.
But no one has confirmed this so far. In this fashion, a cat always stays with the Lord the people say. It is not disturbed as it gives company to the lord feeding on the milk offered to the lord as well as the curd rice sometimes.
But the beauty of the cat is that it will not touch anything until it is offered to the lord and then given by the Archakas.
