As part of the annual Brahmotsavam of Sri Kapileswara Swamy in Tirupati, the Mahashivaratri festival will be celebrated on Friday March 8.
Keeping in mind the rush of devotees, special queues, shelters and parking areas have been arranged.
On the occasion of Mahashivratri, the Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam of Mahanyasa is performed on Friday morning from 2.30 am to 4.30 am.
Rathotsavam (Bhogiteru) will be held from 7 am to 9 am and Snpana Tirumanjanam will be held for the deities from 10 am to 11 am. A special Nandi Vahanaseva will be held from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Devotees will be seen from 6 am to 2 pm and from 4.30 pm to midnight. Lingodbhavakala Abhishekam will be held on Saturday March 9 from 12 am to 4 am.TTD will launch a project dedicated to Sri Sarangapani, a famous 17th-century poet and composer of Carnatic music who lived in the Karvetinagaram area of Chittoor district.
Sri Sarangapani penned about 5 thousand kirtans in Telugu and Sanskrit in praise of Sri Venugopala Swamy. The inauguration of the project will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 3 pm at the SVETA Building in Tirupati.
