With the onset of Monsoon, it is Bonalu time in Telangana. It is considered to be one of the biggest festivals of the state. It starts from Golkonda.
The Government is planning ahead to make all the arrangements for the festival.
Following the Golconda Bonalu, the festival continues with the Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu and Lal Darwaja Mahankali Bonalu in Hyderabad city. Devotees from across the erstwhile districts of Telangana attend these celebrations.
The Endowment Department is set to establish a new Trust Board for the Golconda Bonalu, as the tenure of the current committee has expired. Officials have stated that a notification regarding this will be released in the next two to three days.
Talasani Srinivas Yadav used to be in charge of the festival and now we have to see who will take the responsibility. CM Revanth will attend the festival here at the Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad.
The liquor and goat meat business will thrive during the season. The goat and sheep business will start from Bakrid itself and then it will be more for Bonalu. Poor people and middle class will go for chicken for Bonalu.
All the kaali temples will be decked up for the season to begin on July 7.
