Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in the Karan Johar directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ was a treat for the superstar’s fans.
Shah Rukh played Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ex-husband in the film and made our hearts skip a beat when he mouthed the ‘Ek tarfa pyaar ki taaqat…’ dialogue.
While one would expect his dialogue to be greeted with applause and whistles, moviegoers at the 9pm show in Malegaon’s Upkar theatre did the unthinkable – they burst crackers inside the theatre as soon as SRK appeared on the screen. Whistels followed , they danced on the seats and the theater was completely spoiled and damaged.
What followed was complete pandemonium. Parts of the theatre reportedly caught fire. The noise and the fireworks also created panic and chaos among the unsuspecting audience.
In an interview with a News portal, theatre owner Vijay Bhuse said that the screening had to be halted as they had to extinguish fire in parts of the theatre. He added that though the film was re-started in 10 minutes, 400 people had already left the theatre out of fear, while others angrily demanded refunds.
Five youths have also been reportedly caught and handed over to the police.
In a viral video doing the rounds, fans are seen bursting a string of crackers — including rassi bombs and rockets — inside an auditorium filled with 900 people.
