All is not well at Bollywood. Baahubali saved Karan Johar and Bollywood to some extent.
2017 was an exceptionally dry year at the box office in India to be specific for the Bollywood. The superstars that we look up to for blockbusters, disappointed with weak scripts, over-the-top acting and terrible execution.
That is, not even taking into account the kind of disasters we saw at the big screens… Salman Khan’s Tubelight and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal just bombed at the box office.
Aamir Dangal Khan did not have a proper release in 2017. His Dangal, that released during Christmas 2016, took care of the box-office numbers for several months in 2017.
But 2017 stayed dismally dull. The box office shed tears for eleven of all twelve months, before finally seeing a ray of hope in Salman’s second release this year, Tiger Zinda Hai.
Tiger Zinda Hai turned out to be the only blockbuster of the year.Baahubali from Tollywood also did well in Hindi.
