MV Narsimha Rao, the director of Hyderabad Cricket Academy of Excellence (HCAE) expressed satisfaction on Hyderabad team’s overall performance in the last season, in a press meet conducted at Hyderabad Cricket Association office, Zymkhana grounds today.
The former Indian cricketer, who is also known in cricket circles as Bobjee was all praise for some of the youngsters who have lived upto their expectations in different tournaments.
“Well to begin with our main objective before the Ranji season began was to see Hyderabad reach the elite division. And we were extremely happy with the team’s overall performance as we were also in the race for title at one position. Last time Hyderabad had won title was in 1987 and I was the captain of that team. I thought Hyderabad would do it this time as they pretty close before being beaten in the knockout stage.” said Babji, who also coached in Ireland for many years.
MVN also expressed his happiness over the selection of Mohammed Siraj, C.V. Milind and Tanmay Agarwal in the IPL, who are all still training with them when available.
Hyderabad also put up a fine show in the T-20 tournament, finishing second.
Bobjee mentioned that he was also satisfied with the age group performances with Ravi Teja, Rohit Rayudu and Thyagarajan performing nicely with their all-round show in the under 23 category.
He also appreciated the effort of Nitish Reddy and Vinith Reddy’s, who put on 475 for the opening wicket- a record in u-19 competition.
MVN further opined that the scientific preparation and fitness programmes they had conducted also helped the fast bowler remain injury free through the long Ranji season.
‘Bobjee’ finally said they are not just concentrating in the city, but also trying their best to pick real talent from all Telangana districts and if a sponsor can come forward they can do wonders.
