The fans of Rajinikanth have been thinking about their Thalaiva becoming the CM of Tamilanadu ever since he met PM Modi and Modi called on him before the elections. While Kamal Hassan gave a statement on the present scenario in Tamilnadu, Rajinknath is yet to make any remarks over the ongoings in Tamilnadu. The people are not with Sasikala, but the numbers are with her. The surveys also indicate that people are not with Sasikala.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be fishing in the troubled political waters in Tamil Nadu where the ruling AIADMK has erupted in an open faction fight.
The Bharatiya Janata party is not just wooing superstar Rajinikanth but also such big names as Kamal Haasan to take up its mantle in the state and make inroads given the uncertain situation.
Apart from these two, the party is also said to be wooing actors Ramanathan Sarathkumar and Ajith Kumar to take centre stage in the state’s politics. Another name that is doing the rounds is of National Commission for Women chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam.
The BJP high command maintains that the tussle between acting chief minister O Panneerselvam and AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala is the ruling party’s internal problem. But insiders add that no matter who comes out on top, the BJP only stands to gain. It has nothing to lose in Tamil Nadu and the realisation is that “from here the party can only go upwards; that political instability in the state has created an opportunity of sorts for those wanting to make a name for themselves.
While national general secretary and party’s in-charge in TN Muralidhar Rao told that the situation is extremely fluid there and nothing can be said about the outcome of the feud with any certainty, he added that the BJP stands to benefit.
