The BJP is moving heaven and earth to do something in Telangana. There are 4 leaders working for the party. The whole responsibility lies on the shoulders of the centre now. The idea is to work from the booth level. When it comes to TRS, KCR is very strong and there is almost no ant incumbency so far. The people have high expectations from KCR and the people are still waiting to get something from him.
Amit Shah has been directing party leaders to reach into villages in Telangana and campaign door-to-door. He is expected to scrutinise the reports from party in-charges on what has been done to date. Telangana is one of the states where Shah has called upon party workers to exp-and the party base so that the party returns to power in 2019.
The party chief will be in Telangana for 3 days and then he will go to AP. In TS the scenario is like contesting opposite each other and in AP there will be alignment with the TDP. The TRS on the other hand is weighing options to have an indirect truck with the BJP. KCR is not wanting to fight with the NDA. He has his own set of issue where he cannot directly confront with the ruling party at the centre.
Unlike AP, where the BJP had an alliance with the TD, in Telangana there is no party that the BJP can tie up with, and it can only grow on its own. This is the message Shah will convey during his visit, said party sources.
The Central Office sources, however, ruled out any announcements on alliances since elections are still two years away. Sources said that when a big delegation of state BJP leaders met Mr Shah some time back and complained that AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was completely ignoring the BJP, Mr Shah is said to have retorted: “If I was in the place of Chandrababu Naidu, I would have done the same thing.
You cannot make such complaints. You should be more assertive in the state, and for this, first you must grow independently. You should be in a position to command the politics and should not be begging for posts.”
Amit Shah was supposed to address booth level workers last December, but booth level committees had not been constituted then, so Amit Shah said he would not come until at least 70 per cent of the committees were formed.
