The entire story and Radhakrishnan the ISRO hero’s life now have attracted Bollywood attention. Nikhil Advani wants to turn the big Indian space achievement into a blockbuster celluloid biopic.
the ISRO was working on Mangalyaan-the Mars Orbiter Mission(MOM). The commitment, hard work and taking on tough challenges by scientists including a good number of women resulted in the launch of MOM in Nov 2013. After a 9 month long journey, the probe reached its destination in Sep 2014.
The dream achievement inspired a nation and put India among just 4 Agencies to reach there—NASA, Russia, European Space Agency. The man who led the project was K Radhakrishnan, who took some bold decisions to go ahead with the mission, which cost Rs 450 crore.
In early 2000 the ISRO began work on Chandrayaan it’s mission to Moon. Soon it succeeded.
The result was Chandrayaan rekindled interest in the Moon with its discovery of water traces on the lunar surface.
