It would be better if the AP Government decides to scrap Nandi awards and then goes a fresh mandate from the public for selecting the winners.
The Government can run an online voting for the awards in all categories and probably on the social media too. So that they can say that the public has voted for so and so for the said awards.
Now the issue has turned murkier with Lokesh comments. It would be wise for the Government to scrap them and call for fresh nominations and voting also.
The selection should be transparent and crystal clear so that it is open and no can question the way it has been done.
Let the public participate and decide on the Nandi awards. It might take a months time, but it is worth it.
