K Taraka Rama Rao the working president of the TRS and the Minister for IT and Municipal administration today announced that the bathukamma sarees will be distributed to all the BPL families with white ration cards here in Telangana.
The sarees were weaved by the local weavers and they are costing around Rs 313 crore for the Government. Dasara will be celebrated as a government festival and the sarees for the poor people will be given free of cost by the Government.
KTR today reviewed the program here in Hyderabad and was satisfied with the material and also the designs. This time most of the work pertaining to the weaving of sarees was given to the local weavers he said.
The designs and the quality of sarees is good he opined. He also talked to the media and said that ladies who are above the age of 18 with white ration cards will be given the bathukamma sarees. There is no other state in the country which gives sarees to the womenfolk for the festivals. Here in Telangana clothes are distributed for the festival of Ramzan also. Christmas is also being celebrated by the Government where dinner is being hosted. Dinner is being hosted for Ramzan also.
