Bangladesh fights well

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehedi Hasan Miraz batted brilliantly in the last two sessions as Bangladesh fought well against India at Uppal stadium, Hyderabad. Mushfiqur has been involved in two big partnerships.

He added 107 runs with the experienced Shakib Al Hasan for the fourth wicket and 97 runs with Mehedi for the seventh wicket is unbroken. If both can bat at least till lunch tomorrow, Bangla can hope to avoid follow on, which can give them some relief.

The wicket is still not playing dangerously and that certainly gives the batters some confidence to bat longer. Only thing is they need to apply themselves, not throwing wickets. The day didn’t begin happily for them as their prolific run getter Tamil Iqbal got run out not adding many runs.

Then they lost Mohamudullah, who looked good before he got out for 28. But it was Shakib who entertained the crowd with some fine strokeplay. He was unfortunate not to score a century. It was a struggle for Indian bowlers today. They bowled well in patches, with none of them being devastating. Ashwin nearing 250 wickets will be interesting tomorrow.
