Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has announced that his next project, which happens to be 101st film, is titled “Rythu” and he will be playing a farmer in the movie.

Balakrishna, who is a TDP MLA from the Hindupur constituency, spoke about his 101st movie, informally to some well wishers. He said his next film “Rythu” is about farmers and it deals with the problems faced by them. The movie is written and directed by Krishna Vamsi. The farmers life will be laced with politics and he will fight for the welfare of the people in general and also the farmer in particular.

“Farmers are very important and key for the nation’s development. I am going to play a farmer in my next film which will showcase and highlight the problems faced by them,” sources quoted Balakrishna as saying, while discussing the problems faced by farmers in the Hindupur constituency.

It was reported earlier that “Rythu” was to be Balakrishna’s 100th film. It was also reported that the makers would finalise cast and crew in March and its shooting would commence in April. “He feels that Krishna Vamsi is the only director currently who could do justice to this kind of village backdrop story. There is also a political touch to it,” a source told . On the other hand Krishnavamsi is relatively free when compared to other directors and he can concentrate more on the movie.

Balakrishna is currently promoting his 100th film “Gautamiputra Satakarni,” which is touted to be a historical film based on life history of 2nd century CE, Satavahana ruler Gautamiputra Satakarni. The actor is currently touring USA and promoting his film “Gautamiputra Satakarni.

Its not just Balaiah, but the entire cast and crew is being appreciated for the success of GPS.
