Former Cricket Captain and MP Mohammed Azharuddin from Hyderabad has been appointed as the Working President of the Congress party in Telangana. It is reported that Azharuddin who is in hibernation wants to contest from Secunderabad as an MP from the Congress. He met the party chief Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.
There were rumours that he might opt for the MLA seat, but he has decided to go for the MP seat from Secunderabad. He could not contest the Hyderabad cricket association election earlier.
Azhar was earlier implicated in the match-fixing for cricket. He was banned for life in the cricket, but later it was cleared by the court. Some people objected to his recent bell rining act for a cricket match. Some cricketers objected saying that how can a man involved in the match-fixing ring the bell. Azhar was an MP from Moradabad and later in 2014, he lost from Rajasthan. Now he is trying to make a comeback from Secunderabad.
