Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin and Congress leader has been allowed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to contest for the position of the president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).
The BCCI said that Azharuddin is no longer debarred from holding any position in the International Cricket Council (ICC), BCCI and any of its affiliated bodies.
Following that, the Hyderabadi has demanded fresh elections for the HCA. Earlier, in January 2017, he was not allowed to contest for the post of President to HCA after his nomination papers were not accepted by officers as they were uncertain over whether Azharuddin’s life ban had been lifted or not.
