Azharuddin the former cricketer’s panel has won the Hyderabad cricket association elections today. Azhar has won by 146 votes. Out of 227 votes of the association, 223 votes have been polled.
VVS Laxman came in the eleventh hour and voted. Vivek Venkat Swamy has supported Prakash against Azhar. But Azhar could win the election after good campaigning.
Azhar also filed his nomination two years ago for the same post but his nomination was rejected as he was involved in the match-fixing earlier. He was the Indian captain of the cricket team and he was given a life ban for fixing the match against India. Azhar played 99 test matches and more than 300 one day matches.
He was a good batsman and also a good fielder. Azhar is now 56. He has gyms in various parts of the country. He keeps himself very fit.
