Among the activities and events conducted for cyber security, highlights include Cyber awareness individual topic posters, Social Media posts, Banners, Pamphlets, Kalabrindam events, Flash Mobs, Instagram chat/ Phone-In, Quiz, Cyber Poll, Drawing competition, Instagram story engagement polls, etc. More than 2 lakh pamphlets were distributed to the citizens in both Telugu and English.
Globally, October is celebrated every year as Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The Teams visited more than 200 villages and around 150 schools and colleges, all important public places like Bus stands, Railway stations, Residential areas, Coaching centres, markets, shopping malls, etc., and created awareness on Cyber Security and how to protect oneself from cyber-attacks.
This year’s theme is “See Yourself in Cyber: Together We Make It Safer,” focusing on the most important part of Cyber Security: People. Women Safety Wing, Telangana Police spearheaded the month-long Cyber Awareness Month campaign for the Telangana state.
WSW created a comprehensive schedule with engaging initiatives, a coherent digital strategy, and designated She Teams and Anti Human Trafficking Units (AHTU) for the field operations of creating awareness.
The program was chalked out and sent to all the district Police Officers who have put in their efforts to make the awareness campaign successful.
More than 1,10,000 students participated in the month-long campaign. Banners and posters were displayed on many issues, like Cyberbullying, Cyber-Frauds, Loan apps, OLX Fraud, OTP Fraud, Social Media Safety and Privacy settings, Precautions to be taken by kids while browsing the internet and Precautions to be taken while using Gaming Apps, etc.
Important case studies on various modus operandi were discussed on how to prevent oneself and the communities from Cyber-attacks.
