Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has negotiated with the leaders of the opposition so that there will be no election for the post of the Speaker in the Assembly and that it becomes unanimous. KCR last night talked to the leaders of the Congress, BJP and MIM to cooperate for electing the speaker of the house unanimously. If there are no two nominations for the post, then it becomes unanimous.
Today there will be time for the nominations. The protem Speaker Mumtaz Ahmed Khan will administer the oath to the new MLAs today in the house. This is the first session of the second term of the Telangana Government.
When it comes to the election of the speaker, both Dr Laxman and MIM leader Akbar agreed for the unanimous suggestion of KCR. But Congress chief Uttam Kumar said that he would consult the party and then come to a decision today.
The Chief Minister KCR will first take the oath in the Assembly in front of the protem speaker. Then the women will take the oath followed by the male members in the Alphabetical order.
Soon after the oath taking the MLAs will go for Speaker nomination.
