Principal Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar held a meeting with the top brass of the GHMC and reviewed the arrangements being made in connection with the prevention of the spread of the virus as part of Covid -19 containment action plan. Mr Kumar asked the officials to ensure that proper protocol is maintained in areas where positive cases have been identified.
Sanitation should be maintained and monitoring of fever cases if any should be ensured. No movement of people within the containment zone should be allowed. People who are residing in these clusters are advised not to come out of their houses while outsiders should not be allowed to visit these areas.
A containment Zonal Team to be constituted will have the zonal commissioner as the nodal officer and also include the officials of GHMC, Police, AMOH, Revenue and other line departments, he said.
The team should ensure supply of essential items, sanitation, spraying, regular visit of medical teams, conducting of survey and any other requirement of the residents. A round the clock control room should be set up at the zonal commissioner office to monitor the situation, he added.
Pamphlets in Urdu and Telugu should be printed and distributed in the containment zone. GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Zonal Commisioners, CCP Devender Reddy and other officials attended the meeting.
