Around 20 died in Andhra rains

Chittor and Kadapa are under water. The floodwaters have surrounded some districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh. CM Jaganmohan Reddy has made an ariel survey of the districts which are underwater.

More than 20 people died in the rains and wall collapses. Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam is also under rainwater and the pilgrims are wading through knee-deep waters.

Only one Ghat road is open but the flights are coming up to the Renigunta Airport. The Government whip Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy took stock of the situation on TTD.

The TTD officers are trying to set things on a war footing basis. The TTD is providing food and shelter to the people stranded in the waters on the hills.

Most of the water bodies in Andhra Pradesh are filled to the brim. The water is also flowing from Tirumala hills into the Tirupathi town. An exgratia of Rs 5 lakhs has been announced by the Government to the people who died in the floods.

Rs 2000 is being distributed to the people stranded in the waters.
