Minister for IT and Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao said that around 10 lakh people are getting free water in the city of Hyderabad. He was answering a question here in the Council.
He said that Aadhar linkage will give the free water to the residents who are eligible for the scheme. Each family is being given 20000 litres of free water the Minister said.
MLC Prabhakar thanked and appreciated KTR the Minister for giving free water to the residents of Hyderabad. He wanted the Aadhar linkage time to be extended for two more months.
March end is the last date for the Aadhar linkage for getting the free water. But there are some issues for the Aadhar linkage where the owners who are above the age of 60 are not having finger prints for biometrics. Here they are unable to link Aadhar.
The government must find a way for the senior citizens if the are unable to link the Aadhar. At the same time the residents who are having bulk water connection for Apartments will not get free water as all the owners will not be able to link Aadhar.
The GHMC should open a centre where the residents can come up with issues if they are not able to link the Aadhar for free water.
