Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai with fever and dehydration late on Thursday.
A press release from Apollo Hospitals stated that Ms. Jayalalithaa was “stable and under observation”.
“The honourable chief minister of Tamil Nadu was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai with fever and dehydration,” Dr.Viswanathan from the hospital said in a release circulated to media by the state government in the wee hours on Friday
The State Information Department officials also clarified that the Chief Minister is stable. Meanwhile, police security has been beefed up around the hospital.
On hearing about her admission to the hospital, AIADMK functionaries and cadre started gathering around the hospital with anxiety. But they were told that the Chief Minister is stable.
The lady with power and charisma is Jayalalithaa Amma who has loyal followers that only a few countable political celebrities in India possess. The actress turned politician is in trending news these days as she was convicted in an 18-year-old disproportionate assets case which was filed in 1996 by Dr. Subramaniam Swamy.
She is believed to have assets worth Rs 66.65 crores which includes 2,000 acres of land, 30 kg of gold and 12,000 saris.
The leader of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is known as ‘Amma’ (‘Mother’) and ‘Puratchi Thalaivi’ (‘Revolutionary Leader’) by her followers.
