Amitabh Bachchan reportedly rushed to Vinod Khanna’s family’s side after hearing the news of his death. According to reports, he was giving an interview for his upcoming film Sarkar- 3.
Media has quoted a source as saying, “He reportedly left his interview mid way to rush to hospital to be with Khanna’s family.”
Khanna died at 70 at Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital and breathed his last at 11.20am on Thursday. He was suffering from advanced bladder carcinoma (bladder cancer).
Bachchan and Khanna worked together on Amar Akhbar Anthony with Rishi Kapoor in 1977.
Khanna acted in more than 146 films including Imtihan (1974) opposite Tanuja, a movie remembered for its hit songs. He was adept at handling both romantic and action films with ease, getting under the skin of his characters with ease. In 1988, he played the role of an aging gangster in Dayavaan.
He was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale (2015).
Khanna was married to Geetanjali between 1971 and 1985 and has two sons with her, Rahul Khanna and Akshaye Khanna. He married Kavita with whom he has two children, Sakshi and Shraddha.
