Top Producers of the Tollywood Allu Aravind and Suresh Babu today have appealed to the youth to stop drugs and not to look at them. They also said that the people involved in the drugs from the film industry also should quit them immediately.
On the other hand the excise department has served notices on the drug usage and abuse to 15 film industry wallas in Hyderabad. They include heroes and producers. This is for drug usage as well as peddling . One top director known for completing movies in short time, his manager cum heroine, another director close to him, producer close to a family of heroes, top man in Nacchavula movie, A star who came from America, and some others are said to be in the list. A husband of a popular singer and a music director called as Rockstar.
They are shying away from the SIT and excise department. It is learnt that the notices would go to MAA office .The MAA is trying to take the responsibility between the police and the artists of Tollywood .
A few of them are spoiling the name of the Tollywood film industry they said. They addressed a press meet at the MAA office and said that if someone is found that they are using or having drugs they would be handed over to the police.
The tentacles of the drug business have spread deep into the capital’s well heeled substratum, straddling Tollywood the IT industry and even educational institutions. A prominent film producer, several other cine personalities, top MNC honchos, hoteliers and students from reputed schools and colleges are hooked to the deadly high.
After the drug bust on Sunday, emails, WhatsApp groups and call details of the three arrested were being analysed by officials to track the modus operandi of the peddlers, officials said.

Many women are also in the peddlers’ clientele list.”The accused have given names of schools and colleges of students, addicted to drugs,” the official said.
Most of the contact between the supplier and receiver happens on social media and WhatsApp. It is only at the time of delivery of the contraband, the two meet and this happens in a casual atmosphere. Sometimes, the supplier uses his contacts to deliver narcotics to the final user. In case of MNCs, cafeteria was found to be the ideal place for the peddler-abuser meet-ups, the official added.
