Structured and planned setup of Urban infrastructure is very much important said the Minister for Municipal administration K Taraka Rama Rao. He was addressing a gathering of officials in Hyderabad and said that there are 146 urban local bodies in the state of Telangana. The Urban population is growing and that the Telangana Government has a lot of challenges in taking care of the infrastructure suiting the needs of the people. He reminded that Yadadri and Vemulavada area also the urban temple towns and they are governed by the authorities.
Hyderabad Roads and Musi are developed with corporations he reminded.Multitasking, complex and challenging jobs are being taken up by the Government of Telangana he said. GHMC has about a crore of the population he explained. About Rs 500 crore will be spent for the development of roads he said. A double bedroom township is being developed in Kollur of Sangareddy district he said. It is one of the biggest projects in the country being done by the Government for about 1500 units at free of the cost he explained.
The GHMC will take up 40 lakes and would develop them apart from beautifying the surroundings KTR said. All water bodies and water sources will be protected he said. The HMDA has raised its income by 5 times and it is about 1300 crore KTR stated. 13 satellite townships are being worked out he said. LED lighting is saving us crores of money he explained.
The underground drainage system is being developed in many districts he said.All kinds of pollution will be reduced he said. This work is a continuous process he stated. He suggested media not to make trivial issues into the banner news. Dont make statements like the city is under water so on and so forth he suggested. We cannot build an international city overnight he said.
