Air travel in the country is all set to get costlier by up to 15 percent with a rise in prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) in the last two months.
Prices of ATF were hiked by 6 percent on Sunday due to weakening rupee against dollar. It now costs Rs 53,045 per kilolitre – a rise of Rs 3,025 – and is the third monthly hike.
Airline officials feel that under such circumstances, an increase in ticket prices are inevitable as the operational cost has gone up.
