Afghanistan is going to make history very shortly. A country where political issues still to be sorted out totally will be playing it’s inaugural Test match against India from June 14 at Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore.

What a golden opportunity for a devolving cricket nation which has already earned it’s first World Cup entry recently that too beating the mighty West Indies in the finals of the selection trails. It was of course pity that the West Indies who won the first two editions had to play a qualifier.

In the absence of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahene will be leading the Indian side. But the Afganis can not be taken lightly as they have so much of talent and their recent performance in one day cricket against some tough nations has been fantastic. Of course all eyes will be on Rashid Khan who won the hearts of millions of cricket lovers with his outstanding IPl show. Mujeeb and Nabi also put up a fine show whenever they got chances to play.

For India Ravi Chandran Ashwin is back and Karun Nair is also selected to play.

When we talk about the history of Afghanistan they began their main cricketing journey way back in 2008 and in 2010 they had the opportunity to play in t-20 World Cup. Finally with their fine show they got the Test status in 2017. Now just waiting eagerly for June 14th. Let us wish this new Test team all good luck.
