Now the Muslims can look up to KCR the Telangana CM for the proposed and promised 12 per cent reservations by the Telangana Government. Even the STs can be hopeful of increasing the quota of reservations by KCR. If the constitution can be amended for the sake of Upper castes then the same can be done for the other castes also.
Some Muslim minorities have charged that the KCR was taking the Muslims for a ride and that 12 per cent was impossible. Now his vision has become a reality and the constitution has been amended for the same. The 12 per cent reservations could be a reality soon. KCR, in fact, can take the credit for increasing the reservations.
No one has dreamt or thought of reservations for the upper castes in the name of EBCs.
Similarly, Chandrababu Naidu has been talking about the reservations for the Kapus in Andhra. He can also argue for the same. The TDP MPS did not bother to raise in the issue in the parliament. But the TRS MPs talked about the rise in quota for the Muslims and STs. They reminded the Modi government that the Telangana Government has already passed resolutions for the same in the Assembly.
Now the 10 per cent quota bill is to be passed in the Rajya Sabha and the TRS MPs are expected to argue the case here today. The TDP MPs may also demand the Kapu quota here in Rajyasabha.
If the central Government agrees for the Muslim, ST and Kapu quotas then it will be an advantage for the KCR and Chandrababu Governments here in AP and Telangana. Both KCR and Babu have agreed for the increase in quota of reservations for these communities.
Overall there will be a change of scenario in all the states with the EBC quota reservations for the upper castes.
