Senior BJP leader LK Advani admitted he has inferiority complex when he heard the speeches of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Advani said that he declined to take some responsibilities as he was not a good public speaker like Vajpayee.
Vajpayee has no equals those days when compared with his oratory skills.
He recalled gradually with the encouragement of Vajpayee and other he also developed the oratory skills. He told Vajpayee the same during his 85th birthday and also to Sushma the Minister for external affairs.
That is the truth Advani opined. Till 1960s Advani was very shy on public speaking. He avoided big gatherings as he could not talk in open. Then later he developed skills slowly and mastered the art of speaking in the public meetings.
But Vajpayee is one leader who groomed Promod Mahajan and also Modi in speaking. Of course, Advani was his close friend. Vajpayee also offered to make Advani the Jan Sangh President, but Advani turned down the offer saying he could not speak in the public.
