Adhyayanotsavams in TTD from 22nd

The annual Adhyayanotsavams will be observed in Tirumala temple for 25-days from December 22 till January 15 next.

This long annual festival among the galaxy of religious fests that takes place in Tirumala shrine usually commences 11 days before Vaikuntha Ekadasi.

The uniqueness of this festival is that all the 4000 hymns penned by 12 Alwars, known as Nalayira Divyprabandha Pasurams will be recited every day during these 25 days by Sri Vaishnavaites.

First 11 days are known as Pagalpattu, next 10 days as Rapathu, while on 22nd day Kanninun Siruttambu, 23rd day Ramanuja Nutrandadi, 24th day Sri Varaha Swamy Sattumora will be observed and on final day the festival concludes.

The 133rd Jayanti of Sri Sadhu Subramaniam Shastri, the eminent TTD epigraphist who translated all inscriptions of Tirumala will be held on December 17.

As part of the festivities, TTD officials will pay floral tributes to the life-size bronze statue of Sri Sadhu Subramanya Shastri at SVETA Bhavan in Tirupati the morning followed by a memorial meeting at Tarigonda Vengamamba conference hall.

The TTD is organising Tiruppavai pavachanams by eminent pundits across the country from December 17 to January 14 as part of Dhanur masa festivities.

The pravachanam will commence at Annamacharya Kala Mandir at 5.30 PM on December 17 and continue till January 14 under the leadership of Acharya Chakravarti Ranganathan and in the aegis of TTD’s Alwar Divya Prabandam Project.

Similarly, such parayanams will be organised at 250 locations in AP, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Puducherry, MP etc.
