Justice Sharad Aravind Bobde who would be taking over as the Chief Justice of India (CJI) on 18nth November said that the Ayodhya land dispute case is one of the most important cases in the world.
Bode will be replacing Ranjan Gogoi as the CJI and he was on the judges who heard the case of Ayodhya land for 40 days in a row. But Bobde said that the matter was a secret and he will not be able to disclose any details before the judgement of the disputed land of Ayodhya.
The Babri masjid and the Rama Janmabhoomi case is a very important case of the Judiciary Bobde opined. Bobde opined that the judges must be allowed to function in their own way and that they should not be dragged into controversies.
He also clarified that the majority of allegations levelled against the Judges were proved wrong. The bench reserved the judgement on October 16nth. Justice Gogoi might make the announcement and retire, or justice Bobde might come and pronounce the judgement.
But all this is going to happen before November 18. Bobde was not in favour of disclosing the deliberations that took place for 40 days on the issue of disputed land.
The judges also have a life to live and they also must have the privacy he opined.
The Government and the Judiciary must have mutual respect he suggested. The Government and the judiciary must work together for the welfare of the people he said.
