While Aditya Thackeray is the first MLA from the family, Uddhav will be the first Thackeray to be Chief Minister of Maharashtra. After 20 years the state will have a Chief Minister from Shiv Sena.
Fadnavis the former chief Minister accepted the defeat in a humble and dignified manner and was seen talking to the NCP MLAs and others in the Assembly today.
It has to be seen if Prime Minister Modi and the Home Minister Amit Shah will accept the invitation extended by Sena Government. Uddhav commented that he never dreamt of becoming the Chief Minister of Maharashtra one day.
But earlier said that he has promised his father Bala Saheb Thackerey that one day, Sena man will become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. First, they wanted Aditya to be the chief Minister. But on the advice of the well-wishers and also Sharad Pawar, Uddhav was elected as the Chief of Akhada and he will be taking over on Thursday as the Chief Minister of the state.
