Shyamala Rani, the writer of ‘Naa Manasu Korindi Ninne’, a Telugu novel, filed a petition in court alleging that Tollywood producer Dil Raju had copied the story and made the film in 2011.
The movie Mr. Perfect was released in 2011 whereas her novel was published in 2010. According to her, the makers of the movie copied her story without taking her permission and made a movie on it.
The court took up her petition and directed the Madhapur police to book a case and initiate a probe. The case has been registered against Dil Raju and four others under Copy Right Act.
Police booked a cheating case against Dil Raju, producer, co-producers Sirish and Lakshman, director K Dasarath and dialogue writer Abburi Ravi, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Copy Rights Act and are investigating.”
